Affective robotics
Robots that sense and respond to human emotion.
In my doctoral work at the University of Louisville I developed multimodal emotion recognition for human–robot interaction across neurodiverse populations. This included social robots in interventions for children with autism, personalized speech emotion recognition with vision transformers, and human-mediated large language models for robot-assisted therapy.
